Established approximately twenty years ago by the Rotary Club of Wigston, Music in the Park is an annual concert providing a fabulous evening of music and fireworks in front of the wonderful Wistow Hall.
Over that time, Music in the Park has raised thousands of pounds for local charities, particularly Leicestershire hospice Loros.
Having been cancelled for the last two years due to the pandemic, the event’s future was in doubt following the unfortunate closure of the Wigston Rotary Club.
However, with the help of former Wigston club members Rob Bowman and Tim Alton, the Rotary Club of Leicester is pleased to confirm that Music in the Park will return this year on:
Saturday 11th June 2022.
Music will be provided by:
Hathern Brass Band, a thriving First Section Brass Band based in Leicestershire with more than 140 years of history, delivering a ‘last night of the proms’ type event, and
The Old Boy Network – A 5-piece live band performing classic tracks from the 60’s and 70’s.
The concert is raising money for LOROS (hospice), Rainbows Hospice, and the Ectodermal Dysplasia Society.
